Ian Ritchie

I have been teaching Cycle 1 Science and Technology since 2004, before becoming a teacher I worked in the Telecom industry doing digital mapping. As a teacher, I work hard at integrating Technology into the curriculum. Over the years I have used Lego Robotics, iPads, Netbooks, Online technologies (Ex: ExploreLearning, Edmodo, Smart Notebook, etc.). For the past two years, I have been working with an incredible team integrating Raspberry Pis into the Middle School and High School Curriculum. Last year at Laval junior Academy we had 4 groups of Science Excellence students purchase Raspberry Pi computers and use them in several experiments throughout the year. The program was a success and is continuing this year at both Laval Junior Academy and Laval Senior Academy. I have also started to prepare a program for their use at Rosemere High School this year.
