The focus of the workshop is to share recently developed learning and evaluation tools for the secondary cycle 2 ST, AST, and EST technology portion of the science program. The LESs were developed with the intent of emphasizing student cognitive and metacognitive strategies by incorporating Inquiry-Based teacher probes into the lessons. Presenters will demonstrate the components of their newly developed LESs and ESs. Multiple LES and ES will be made available to participants, including support documents and teaching tools (PowerPoints, handouts with answer keys). Participants will learn how to build electric circuits used in the LES, and a unit plan that has students building motion transmission and motion transformation systems. In addition, teachers will be provided with a variety of alternate lesson plans.
